Heritage Consultant
Zara is a Heritage Consultant with a strong academic background in art history and historic building conservation. She holds a BA in History of Art from the University of York, where a specialist module on English Country Houses first inspired her interest in the historic environment. During her studies she also gained hands‑on experience at Castle Howard, one of the country’s most significant baroque houses, deepening her understanding of estate landscapes, architectural evolution and the conservation challenges facing large historic properties.
Zara went on to complete an MSc in Conservation of Historic Buildings at the University of Bath. Her postgraduate work equipped her with a solid grounding in conservation philosophy, traditional materials and construction methods, and the practical issues involved in adapting historic buildings for modern use.
She has contributed to heritage projects through her volunteer work with the National Trust and has developed strengths in preparing heritage statements, undertaking detailed research, and producing clear, well-structured reports to support planning and conservation outcomes.
Based north-west of London, Zara works across the capital and the southern counties. Outside of her professional work, Zara is an active runner who enjoys exploring the outdoors.
