Shaun is a Senior Heritage Consultant with a deep-seated passion for historic architecture—a passion that took root while he was teaching and studying in Germany. His fascination with the historic environment inspired him to pivot his career towards this domain. Shaun holds a BA (Hons) in History & German from Cardiff University, where he graduated with first-class honours, and an MSc in Historic Building Conservation from Kingston University London, awarded with merit.
In his current role, Shaun excels in providing comprehensive heritage statements, expert advice, and detailed conservation plans. He is adept at using his artistic talents to create photomontages that play a crucial role in planning applications, especially where the setting of a heritage asset is concerned. Shaun’s ability to visually represent changes ensures that all interventions are well-informed and sensitive to their historic context.
Based in the historic cathedral city of Winchester, a location steeped in over a thousand years of architectural history, Shaun primarily focuses on projects in London and the southern counties of England. His dedication to excellence is evident in his commitment to staying abreast of the planning system through ongoing reading of guidance documents and professional blogs, enabling him to offer the best possible advice to his clients.
Outside of his professional life, Shaun is a keen artist, often creating and selling original paintings. His love for vintage motorcycles further showcases his appreciation for all things historic, as he has successfully restored several classic models. With a blend of historical insight, artistic skill, and technical expertise, Shaun continues to contribute significantly to the field of historic building conservation.
