Chris is a highly skilled Heritage Consultant with a rich blend of practical and academic expertise, making him a valued asset in the field of historical preservation. Born and raised in Keighley, West Yorkshire, a town steeped in textile history, Chris started his career in the family business of Yorkshire stonemasonry. Here, he honed his craft as a banker mason, contributing to both historic and modern projects across the country.

Pursuing his passion for history, Chris earned a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Huddersfield, followed by a Master’s degree in Buildings Archaeology from York University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career in recording and consulting on historic buildings.

At Heritage Unlimited, Chris specialises in producing meticulous historic building records. His expertise spans a variety of architectural structures, from residential to commercial, agricultural, and industrial buildings. Amongst his recent projects for Heritage Unlimited include, documenting a 1950s grade II listed secondary modern school in Wokingham, Berkshire, and a non-designated heritage asset former public house in West Farleigh, Kent.

Chris’s knowledge and understanding of historical architecture makes him a trusted expert in his field, producing high quality historic building records at all levels, articulated though his meticulous research and on site investigations.
