As 2025 comes to a close, it’s time to look back on a fulfilling year at Heritage Unlimited. We’ve been fortunate to work on an array of inspiring projects, guiding clients through listed building consents, preparing comprehensive heritage statements, and advising on sensitive alterations and adaptation on a verity of historic buildings across the UK.
Our work has spanned timber-framed medieval halls, elegant Georgian residences, and grand Victorian properties – each with its own rich narrative.
A key focus this year has been harmonising modern requirements – particularly energy efficiency upgrades and adaptations for contemporary family life – with rigorous conservation standards. Our consultants, now qualified with the ABBE Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings, have been ideally placed to deliver expert advice on sympathetic retrofits that preserve original features.
We’ve also assisted with many resubmissions after initial refusals, conducting detailed fabric assessments and heritage impact statements to achieve positive results. In an evolving policy environment emphasising NPPF tests and sustainable practices, it’s been rewarding to see heritage conservation align ever more closely with environmental objectives.
Our team has continued to build expertise through professional development and close collaboration with planning consultants, architects, and clients. Every project reaffirms our commitment: thoughtful, evidence-based interventions can revitalise historic buildings while safeguarding their authentic character.
Looking to 2026, we’re excited for new challenges and ready to support your heritage needs – from full assessments to tailored sustainability strategies.
Thank you to our clients, partners, and readers for your continued trust. From everyone at Heritage Unlimited, we wish you a restful and joyful festive season in the embrace of our wonderful historic spaces.
Happy New Year!
